Integrative wellness coaching

Coaching that begins with how you experience your own mind and body.

Interoception is an integrative wellness coaching practice built around one idea: your thoughts, feelings and body are connected, and lasting change comes from understanding that connection. Together we build a plan shaped by your history, abilities and values.

The name

What is interoception?

Interoception · noun
Your sense of what is happening inside your body: heartbeat, breath, tension, hunger, fatigue. It's how you can feel nervous before you've put a name to it, or worn out before you've stopped.
Why it matters
The signals your body sends shape your mood, energy and decisions. Noticing and understanding them is a skill, and like any skill, it can be practised.
Why it's our name
This practice starts there. We work on noticing what your body and mind are telling you, and on using that understanding to build strength, steadiness and a life that fits your values.
The approach

The plan is designed around you, not the other way round.

There is no universal workout, fixed program or single definition of success here. One consistent philosophy guides the work, and your experience shapes everything else.

You arrive with your own history

Your physical abilities, experiences, relationships, culture and beliefs about yourself all shape how you feel today. We start by understanding them.

Mind and body affect each other

Moving your body can change mood, focus and how you see yourself. Your thoughts and feelings shape motivation, consistency and how you move.

You are a full collaborator

You decide what matters and what success looks like. I bring structure, tools and accountability to help you get there.

The body is part of the work

Movement and body awareness are chosen on purpose, to support a goal we've agreed on. They are never an add-on or a requirement.

Working together

One coach, one plan, and you lead it.

You

  • Bring your lived experience, preferences and values
  • Set the goals that matter to you
  • Give feedback that changes the plan

Me, your coach

  • Help you notice patterns in how you think, feel and move
  • Use practical tools drawn from cognitive-behavioral, narrative, positive psychology and motivational interviewing approaches
  • Bring body awareness and movement into sessions where it helps

Others, when you need them

  • A licensed therapist, if mental health care would serve you better
  • A fitness professional for structured training
  • Your doctor, for health questions or clearance

Coaching is not therapy, counseling or medical care, and I don't diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If something you're facing calls for clinical support, I'll tell you honestly and help you find it. Movement in our sessions is gentle and chosen by you; I'm not a personal trainer.

How it works

From first questions to everyday life

  1. Whole-person assessment

A short online questionnaire about your well-being, how you move, what matters to you and what you'd like to change. There are no right answers, and you can skip anything optional and talk it through in person instead.

    About 12–15 minutes, online

  2. Planning together

In our first session we agree on goals: something about your mindset, something physical, and something that connects the two. For example, being less self-critical, getting more active, and feeling confident when facing physical challenges.

  3. Sessions that include the body

Coaching sessions bring in body awareness and movement where they help: noticing what your body does under stress, practising steadier responses, and trying activity you choose.

  4. Reflect and adapt

We regularly look at what you're noticing, physically and emotionally, including anything unexpected. Progress might mean more challenge, less intensity, a new focus, or a completely different activity.

  5. Into everyday life

The goal is to carry what you learn into relationships, work and hard moments. Success means needing coaching less over time, not more.

One philosophy, different paths

These are illustrations, not real clients. Movement doesn't always have to be a challenge, either. Sometimes what helps most is movement that is enjoyable, restorative or simply good for you.

The philosophy

There is no universal path to wellness.

Every person has a distinctive relationship with their mind and body. Meaningful growth begins by understanding that relationship, then building experiences that strengthen the whole person.

How we measure progress

  • Awareness
  • Agency
  • Flexibility
  • Physical capability
  • Living by your values

How we don't

  • Appearance
  • Performance
  • Never feeling stress

The mission is whole-person well-being through individualized, collaborative coaching that brings personal growth and the body together.

Questions

Before you start

Is this therapy?

No. Interoception is an integrative wellness coaching practice. It focuses on your goals, habits and growth, and it doesn't diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If you're living with a condition like depression, an anxiety disorder or trauma, coaching can't replace care from a licensed professional, and I'm glad to help you find one.

Is this personal training?

No. Body awareness and gentle movement are part of how we work, but I'm not a personal trainer. If a structured exercise program would help, I can point you to a qualified fitness professional.

Do I need to be fit or active?

No. We start from where you are today, and any movement is chosen by you and suited to your body and pace. You can always slow down or stop.

Who sees what I share?

Your assessment answers are encrypted and read only by me. Nothing is shared with anyone else, such as a doctor or trainer, without your written permission.

Is it safe for me to be more active?

The assessment includes a few health and safety questions. If anything needs a closer look, we talk it through, and I may suggest checking with your doctor before you increase activity.

What if I'm struggling right now?

Coaching and the assessment are not emergency services, and the assessment is not monitored in real time. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US; veterans press 1), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency department.
